Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at the Canad Inns Polo Park, 1405 St. Mathews Avenue. Our agenda is as follows:

7:30 pm - Adjournment & Dinner on Own (Optional)

Cost: $ 10.00 for non members. There is no fee for members to attend the speaker session. Please use the list below to find information on our next scheduled meetings.

Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention

and Ergonomics in Healthcare

Kim Roer is an Occupational Therapist and is the Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention Program (MIPP) Coordinator at St. Boniface Hospital. With over 16 years experience in work injury management, Kim’s focus is on the prevention and management of musculoskeletal injuries in the workplace.

She is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of various ergonomic programs such the Minimal Lift Program for patient handling, office ergonomics and Physical Demands Analysis as well as providing ergonomic assessments, consultation and numerous education/training sessions.

Kim will discuss the issues associated with MSI prevention in healthcare and best practice for injury prevention with a focus on the Safe Patient Handling Minimal Lift Program.
